shadow shot sunday(ish)
Monday, February 14, 2011 at 10:31PM I found a blog, Hey Harriet , that does a creative project every Sunday called...
Loving shadow and light I thought this might be fun to participate in. I'm allowing myself the freedom to only be concerned with the shadow and light in the image. No pressure to have perfect composition, focus, subject, exposure, etc.
These are from a walk I took on the beach - Old Orchard Beach, ME - on January 31, 2011.

Hope you enjoy shadow as much as I do.

wow. these are some fine photos. SSS has changed the way I see things in shadow and light and I like your intent to just see the play of the two, and go with just that as a consideration when you snap the shot. I'm amazed at the width of the beach in that last photo and I like how you were walking and then turned around to get the shot. I feel as though I was on the walk with you, there's a little bit of everything. thanks for sharing your world, it's remarkable.
The beach is loaded with photo ops even in winter!
your shots are great! the first and the last are my very favorites!! i find pier pylons fascinating and gorgeous, i could stare at them for hours. i agree with what you said...participating in this group has taught me a lot. by allowing myself to focus on only 1 or 2 elements i've been able to create more meaningful and artistic photos.
Marvelous shadow shots on the beach! Love the colors! Looks like a beautiful day! Hope your weekend is going well!

And what fine shadows they are in the first shot of the pier. Although I think footsteps on the wet sand with the setting sun would have to be one of my favourite themes.
